As we were unable to work today due to the severe weather we were able to spend the day in the conservatory watching and photographing birds in our Burgess Hill garden. We saw 2 Goldcrests, 1 Grey Wagtail, 16 Greenfinches, 7 Chaffinches, 6 Goldfinches, 7 Blackbirds, 2 Song Thrushes, 9 House Sparrows, 25+ Starlings, 1 male & 1 female Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Robins, 4 Blue Tits, 2 Great Tits, 7 Long-tailed Tits, 4 Woodpigeons and 21 Reed Buntings, of which 14 were on the same small table feeding together with the rest patiently waiting their turn. This count is one away from our all time record of 22 a few years ago, hopefully this record will be broken this winter.
