General: This site of 6.8 hectares is owned by Network Rail and was leased to Mid Sussex District Council. It lies between Burgess Hill and Wivelsfield stations adjacent to the west side of the track. It comprises meadows, hedgerows and small parcels of woodland which are all designated within the Site of Nature Conservation Importance. Eventually a ‘team’ within the Friends of Burgess Hill Green Circle will be formed to help look after the site in line with a new management plan. There is full public access but no through route southwards.
History: More information will be added after further research. Flora/Fauna: Further surveys will be conducted and the results tabulated. Geology/Geography: This section will be added later.
