Location of Coulstock, Pookebourne & Southway Green SpacesGeneral:  These sites consists respectively of a) open space (2.5 hectares), b) a stream (1 hectare) and c) woodland (1.3 hectares), all owned by Mid Sussex District Council.  a) lies to the west of Burgess Hill, adjacent to Jane Murray Way, York Road and Robin Road.  It comprises meadows, hedgerows and the Pookebourne Stream.  The woodland c) is adjacent to Burgess Hill Rugby Club and Southway School.  There is limited Aerial map of Coulstock, Pookebourne & Southway Green Spacespublic access to all three sites at present but this will gradually change as paths are constructed following a full wildlife survey to be conducted in 2010.  Eventually a ‘team’ within the Friends of Burgess Hill Green Circle will be formed to help look after these sites in line with a new management plan. 

History: More information will be added as research is conducted. 

Flora/Fauna:  Further surveys will be conducted and the results included later in 2010.
